Stroke Support Organization (SSO) is a non-governmental organization in Malawi aiming to improve living conditions for stroke survivors and slow its rise in the country. With funding from the Population Health Research Institute, Canada, SSO is implementing a randomized controlled trial to determine effectiveness of volunteer-led rehabilitation interventions among community living stroke survivors at its Likuni Life After Stroke Centre (LASC) in Lilongwe. SSO-Malawi is therefore looking for dynamic person to work as a Research Nurse/Midwife Technician fixed term for one year. The candidate will report to the LASC Coordinator.

SSO Malawi Vacancy: Physiotherapist Research Coordinator

Physiotherapist/Research Coordinator, Stroke Support Organisation (SSO) is a non-governmental organisation in Malawi aiming to improve living conditions for stroke survivors and slow its rise in the country. With funding from the Population Health Research Institute, Canada, SSO is implementing a randomised controlled trial to determine the effectiveness of volunteer-led rehabilitation interventions among community living stroke survivors at its Likuni Life After Stroke Centre in Lilongwe. SSO-Malawi is therefore looking for a dynamic person to work as a Physiotherapist and Research Coordinator for one year. The candidate who will report to the LASC study Principal Investigator(s) will be required to provide leadership, coordinate, and oversee LASC activities, ensuring they align with SSO objectives and the LASC study protocol. He/she will also be expected to provide therapy to admitted stroke patients at Likuni Mission Hospital at least once a week.
